Yet another online parking hack: Book2Park loses card data in data breach

According to Brian Krebs, Book2Park.com has become the latest victim of cyber crime after customers’ credit card data went up for sale on underground online forum Rescator.

It is not yet known how many credit cards have been affected, but when asked about the breach, Book2Park.com owner Anna Infante said she was not aware that her customers’ cards were for sale online. She did, however, confirm that malicious files had been planted on their webserver recently, but have since been removed.

The hackers that were behind the Home Depot and Target breaches are believed to be connected to this attack, too.

Book2park.com is the third online parking service to fall victim to this cyber criminal group since December, along with Park ‘N Fly and OneStopParking.com.

It is believed that online parking services have been targeted more recently as they serve business customers who use corporate credit cards that are less likely to check the use of their cards on a day-to-day basis.
