What is ITIL?

ITIL 4 changes the game

AXELOS conducted more than 30 workshops and research sessions, and assembled a Lead Architect Team to make the latest version of the framework “more nimble and contemporary”.
It did this by providing an end-to-end digital operating model for the delivery and operation of tech-enabled products and services. It has also focused on Agile, DevOps and Lean as areas for integration with traditional ITIL best practices.
Adam Stewart, head of business skills at QA, concludes that ITIL 4 “[is] much more relevant to developers, practitioners and businesses. This latest iteration moves away from a traditional process-led approach to value-driven delivery for people and organizations.”
Transitioning from ITIL v3 to ITIL 4 certification
The introduction of ITIL 4 has left many who are studying the previous iteration in a difficult position.
Depending on how far into your studies you are, the best course of action might be to continue with ITIL v3 until you gain 17 credits, at which point you can take the MP transition module.
If you’ve already certified to ITIL v3, you should take the ITIL 4 Foundation training course to update your knowledge. The core concepts remain the same, but there are some key changes that you must familiarize yourself with.
